Guys Watch Porn That Looks Like You

One thing I literally couldn’t care less about is the porn search history of a guy I’m dating and/or otherwise having sex with. It’s not that I “don’t want to know” in any kind of sex-shamey sense. If that’s something you want to share with me, by all means, give me the guided tour! But it is my personal opinion (which also happens to be the correct one, FYI) that we, as individuals, are entitled to our own private sex lives with ourselves, regardless of relationship status. (Yes, this means that watching porn isn’t “cheating.” Insincerest of apologies to those who may think otherwise.) As far as I’m concerned, your sex life with yourself is your business, and whatever erotic stimuli may or may not be part of that life has nothing to do with me. Unless of course, it does have something to do with me. In which case I want to know EVERYTHING. I’m talking about a thing I only recently learned is A Thing: Men (and presumably people of all genders, but as a woman who primarily has sex with men, I’m gonna focus on the fellas for the purposes of this story) sometimes actively search for porn featuring performers who look like the person they’re dating/hooking up with/have a crush on/etc. I came across this little update the way most people acquire information (however dubious) these days: on TikTok, where it occasionally comes up in the abundance of content devoted to women’s thoughts on their partners’ porn-watching habits. Maybe this isn’t terribly surprising news to you, but it was to me—news I found somehow…weirdly wholesome? As women in a largely mononormative, sex-negative society, we’re usually conditioned to see our male partner’s porn-watching habits as a threat, a competitor. (Should we? Absolutely not, but we’ll get to that.) Meanwhile, the guys we’re dating (some of them, anyway) are actually out here jerking it to porn that looks like us, which is kind of…sweet, IMO.
